Keiko Tsuda are giving away their new masterpiece Saké Duo Kit for free. It’s sort of similar to Bad Dudes.. and then again.. maybe not. It’s a two-man guitar vs. drums project full of electronic fun. Highly recommended, anyways! The old brilliant 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 is free as well:

And from a Japanese sounding band name to an actual Japanese band: And someone who started sounding like Trans AM or UI… whatever… they have a synthesizer now. But LITE has always sounded different from themselves. And beware… beautiful promo video ahead..

Debut is coming up on really soon on Hello Sir, and without any further information, Antarctic has put the first two tracks, Pasea La Salamandria being a re-recording from their demo. If you liked The Littlest Viking earlier this year (or Fago.Sepia for that matter), you’re going to enjoy this a lot.

From the new album Geneva, download Malko on mp3. Their recipe isn’t worn out, and they’re still using it.

talonsJust available from Big Scary Monsters is the debut single from Talons. You can listen to it on myspace or buy it on emusic. They’ve already got some rec from major magazines, so let’s see if they take it mainstream or continue to sound a bit odd. Mostly it’s the very aggressive and constantly playing violins, but they’re a welcomed attribution to the delicate and heavenly mix of post-rock and math.

Another thing that should be in your record collection around September 25th is the debut full-length from Airpeople. Listen to the title track Golden City and you should agree that this is a winner. Oil drums… who would’ve thought. Thanks to Golden Antenna for releasing this. It’s on pre-order already.

Danish, but out-of-this-world instrumental math-rock Obstacles have mixed and mastered a 7″ and are almost ready to put it out in Denmark on Red Tape. They’re still looking for a label outside DK. Compared to the old EP, the band sounds even more powerful — almost as amazing as their live shows. Also, they’re touring central Europe in September.

wrestlingmoves_hicoverTheir EP is available as a free download, that the band gets royalties for. Go fetch. Bears In The Yukon is both a beautiful post-rock album and a creative bundle of full flora guitar work. It rarely goes low-tempo, but instead has tons of interesting shifts.. almost earning them a math genre tag. And play it with the bass up, trust me.

Ohohoh, and this: Native are releasing their debut ‘Wrestiling Moves’ on Sargent House. ‘Ponyboy’ is already streaming on their myspace. And enjoy this promo video, too.

the New MoB Album

the New MoB Album

19 years after they broke up, Mission of Burma reunited for a few shows. It didn’t go as planned though, and that’s good thing. 7 years, 2 albums and a complete new generation of fans later, Mission of Burma 2.0 is still steaming full ahead.

The follow-up of Mission of Burma’s great album ‘the Obliterati’ will be released on the sixth of October and it’s called ‘The Sound, The Speed, The Light’. We can expect something different this time. As they say on the Matador Blog: “…the record is a departure from the pinned-needles roar of 2006’s The Obliterati. The new album sounds far more spacious and dynamic. It is more or less divided into 4 sets or suites of 3 songs. Each suite explores a set of moods or colors, across the usual dizzying array of lyrical topics, from alcoholism to fleshly concerns.”

Who is Mission of Burma? Check out our video section for our feature about the band with a big interview and live footage filmed at the Villette Sonique show last year in Paris.

spliiiiiiiiiiitttttttttjapanImperial China writes the following…

Our full-length album is done! Are you a label? Let’s talk.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support; we hope to have the record out this fall.

I’d sign them just to get my hands on the full-length… and dig this: Fago.Sepia is releasing a split in August on Japanese label Friend of Mine.
